Delete a single conversation
In most AI apps, open the conversation's menu in the sidebar and choose Delete. On ChatGPT the option sits next to each chat in the history list.
Delete everything
Look in settings under data controls or general settings for an option to delete all chats. Some providers also offer a full account deletion that removes your profile and history together.
What deletion does and doesn't remove
Deleted chats disappear from your history right away, but providers commonly keep them on their servers for a retention period before permanent removal, and may keep some records longer where required. The provider's privacy policy states the exact period.
Store less in the first place
- Use private or temporary chat for sensitive topics.
- Turn off history or training options if your provider offers them.
- On UncutGPT, use private chat, or remove and archive chats from each conversation's menu. Removing content hides it from your account; closing an account ends access. Saved content and account records remain on the server indefinitely and are available to authorized administrators, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
