What they do
A temporary or private chat isn't saved to your conversation list, so it won't show up later on your devices or to someone using your account.
What they don't do
The provider still receives every message to generate replies, and may keep it briefly for safety or legal reasons. Your network and device can still see that you used the service. It is privacy from your history, not anonymity.
When to use one
- Health, relationship or money questions you don't want saved.
- One-off questions you won't need again.
- Shared devices where others could open your history.
